Hengaw – Wednesday, February 18, 2026

Amir Ahmadi, a 39-year-old resident of Sabzevar in Razavi Khorasan Province, has been arrested by government forces to begin serving a nine-month prison sentence. He had previously been convicted in connection with an Instagram post concerning the Iran–Israel war.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Ahmadi was taken into custody and transferred to prison on February 7, 2026, in order to enforce his nine-month custodial sentence.

He had earlier been summoned to Branch One of the Sabzevar Sentence Enforcement Office on January 9, 2026, after receiving a formal notice ordering the implementation of his prison term.

The conviction was issued on the charge of “propaganda against the state,” linked to content he published on Instagram during the twelve-day war between Iran and Israel.
