Seven detained in Taleqan; fate remains unknown one month after arrest

Iranian authorities arrested at least seven individuals in the city of Taleqan, Alborz Province, during the recent protests. More than a month later, they continue to withhold information about their fate.
According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the detainees are Alborz Sadeqian, Ali Qorbani, Ebrahim Gharqi, Ahmad Sadat Rasoul, Ali Shahbazi, Mohammad Akbarian, and Mostafa Vatankhah. The arrests took place in the days following the protests held on January 8, 2026.
Iranian authorities transferred the seven residents of Taleqan to undisclosed locations. Despite the passage of over a month since their arrest, their whereabouts remain unknown.
Authorities have provided no clear information about the charges against these individuals or the location and conditions of their detention. Efforts by their families to obtain answers remain unanswered.
