Political prisoner Amirreza Pedram sentenced to over six years

The Iranian judiciary has sentenced Amirreza Pedram, a Lor political prisoner from Khorramabad and one of those arrested during the January protests in Mashhad, to six years and three months in prison.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Branch 1 of the Mashhad Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge Akbari-Moghaddam, sentenced Pedram, a resident of Mashhad currently held in Vakilabad Prison, to six years and three months in prison.

The court sentenced him to five years in prison on the charge of “assembly and collusion” and an additional one year and three months for “propaganda against the state,” bringing his total sentence to six years and three months.

Iranian security forces arrested Pedram during the January 2026 protests in Mashhad. He was initially transferred to the central detention facility of the Razavi Khorasan Province Intelligence Department and later moved to Vakilabad Prison, where he is currently serving his sentence.

Informed sources told Hengaw that Pedram was denied access to a lawyer during the proceedings and subjected to severe torture, including flogging, during interrogation and detention.

Before his arrest in Mashhad, Pedram worked as an art collector, antique stone trader, and jeweler.
