30 prisoners, including one woman, executed in facilities across Iran

Iranian authorities carried out the executions of 30 prisoners, including one woman, in multiple detention facilities across the country in late January and early February 2026. The prisoners had previously been sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary on charges of “premeditated murder” and “drug-related offenses.”

According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the executions took place in prisons in Hamedan, Malayer, Rasht (Lakan), Khorramabad, Zanjan, Ahvaz, Qazvin, Saveh, Yazd, Taybad, Sabzevar, Semnan, and Isfahan.

Among those executed, Hengaw has confirmed the identity of one woman and three Afghan nationals. The documented cases also include six Lors, three Turks, three Gilaks, two Mazani individuals, one Kurdish person, and one Arab individual.

Authorities in Isfahan Central Prison (Dastgerd) executed Asghar Fathi from Borujerd and 32-year-old Erfan Salehi from Aligudarz on February 15, 2026. Both men had been sentenced to death on drug-related charges.

Hatem Shamshiri from Aligudarz was executed in Khorramabad Central Prison on January 31, 2026, on drug-related charges. The same prison carried out the execution of Bijan Shahrokhi on January 11, 2026, after he had been sentenced to death for premeditated murder. Fariborz Ezzati and Saeed Fazeli were executed there on January 6, 2026, in separate cases involving premeditated murder. Hengaw has learned that Ezzati and Fazeli were denied a final visit with their families and were executed without prior notice.

In Hamedan Central Prison, Ardeshir Molaei, a 40-year-old from Malayer and father of one child, was executed on February 26, 2026, on drug-related charges. Amir Rouhi was put to death in the same facility on February 25, 2026, after being convicted of premeditated murder.

Nima Afshari, 28, was executed in Malayer Prison on February 25, 2026, in connection with a fatal street altercation.

Four executions were carried out in Zanjan Central Prison. Abolfazl Beig-Mohammadi and Javad Haqiqat were executed on January 27, 2026, on drug-related charges. Karim Asgari and 53-year-old Tayebeh Hekmat, a mother of three sentenced to death for killing her husband, were executed in the same prison on January 5, 2026.

Mehdi Belali was executed in Sepidar Prison in Ahvaz on January 27, 2026, after being sentenced to death for premeditated murder.

At Saveh Prison, authorities carried out the execution of Faramarz Amoozad on January 19, 2026, in connection with a fatal street fight.

Five prisoners were executed in Rasht Central Prison (Lakan) over three separate dates. Ali Zadakbari, 29, from Qaemshahr and father of one child, and Mansour Asghari, 47, from Sari, were executed on January 18, 2026. Musa Rahbar, 27, from Lahijan, and Taher Yazdani, 52, from Rasht and father of four children, were executed on January 11, 2026, on charges of premeditated murder. Mehran Shokat was executed in the same facility on January 7, 2026, on drug-related charges.

Finally, authorities in Yazd Central Prison executed 22-year-old Kian Manouchehri from Ardakan on January 18, 2026. He had been arrested three years earlier at the age of 19.

The remaining prisoners executed during this period have been identified as Afshin Jabbari, Kheirollah Goljani, Kamran Manafii, Hessam Moloudnejad, Alireza Yadegari, Jamilollah Shahi, Mohammad Ashraf, Abbas Mahdinejad, and Rostam Hariri. Hengaw is currently investigating the place of execution of these individuals.

State media, particularly outlets affiliated with the judiciary, have not announced these executions. Hengaw has learned that at least two of the executions were carried out in secret and without granting the prisoners a final visit with their families.
