Six prisoners executed in Karaj, Kermanshah, Gonabad, and Qom Prisons

At least six prisoners were executed on Wednesday in various prisons across Iran, including in Ghezel Hesar (Karaj), Kermanshah, Gonabad, and Qom. The prisoners, previously convicted of drug-related charges and premeditated murder, were identified as Esmail Dahmardeh, Samir Ghasemi, Bahram Hedavandkhani, Salar Amir Jalali, Abolfazl Karimi, and Kambiz Fathi.
According to reports received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on the morning of Wednesday, April 9, 2025, three prisoners—Bahram Hedavandkhani, a Lor man from Varamin; Salar Amir Jalali, a Turkish man from Tehran; and Abolfazl Karimi, from Karaj—were executed at Ghezel Hesar Prison. All three had been convicted of murder in separate cases. Notably, Bahram Hedavandkhani had spent 16 years on death row.
On the same day, Kambiz Fathi, a 28-year-old Kurdish prisoner from Kermanshah, was executed at the city’s central prison. He had been convicted of murder and sentenced to death three years ago.
Additionally, Esmail Dahmardeh, an elderly Baloch man from Sistan and Baluchestan Province, was executed at Gonabad Central Prison in Razavi Khorasan. His sentence stemmed from drug-related charges.
Earlier in the week, on Sunday, April 6, another prisoner, Samir Ghasemi, was executed in Qom Central Prison following a murder conviction.
As of the time of this report, none of these executions have been reported in Iranian state media or official judiciary outlets.
