Iran arrests three Kurds in Malekshahi and Abdanan; fate unknown

Three Kurdish men have been arrested by Iranian government forces in Ilam Province and transferred to undisclosed locations. No information has been released regarding the whereabouts or legal status of Sikan Roshani, Soleiman Garami, and Sajjad Hekmat.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Sikan Roshani and civil activist Soleiman Garami, both residents of Malekshahi County, were arrested by government forces on January 16, 2026. More than 25 days after their detention, there is still no information available about their fate or place of detention.

In a separate case, Sajjad Hekmat, a resident of Abdanan in Ilam Province, was arrested by government forces on January 10, 2026, and transferred to an undisclosed location. Nearly one month after his arrest, his fate remains unknown.

Informed sources state that all three arrests were carried out without the presentation of judicial warrants.

Since their detention, the three individuals have been denied the right to contact their families, receive visits, or access legal counsel. The continuing lack of information about their condition and whereabouts has raised serious concerns about their safety and well-being.

No official details have been released regarding the reasons for their arrest, the charges against them, or the authorities responsible for their detention.
