Iranian forces kill Fatemeh Nasiri and her niece Zahra Jafari in Isfahan protests

Fatemeh Nasiri and her niece, Zahra Jafari, two Lor women from Vanak in Semirum County, Isfahan Province, were shot and killed with live ammunition by Iranian government forces during protests in Baharestan, Isfahan.

Informed sources told Hengaw Organization for Human Rights that the two were killed on Friday, January 9, 2026, while participating in the protests. Nasiri was married and the mother of two children.

The sources added that their bodies were returned to the families after several days of follow-up and were subsequently buried.

The families of the two victims continue to face pressure from Iranian authorities.
