Security forces detain Baha’i adherent Pezhman Zare in Shiraz

Pezhman Zare, a Baha’i adherent residing in Shiraz, has been detained by Iranian authorities in recent days and transferred to an undisclosed location.

According to a report received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, agents of the Intelligence Department in Shiraz raided his home in the early hours of Sunday, March 15, 2026, and arrested him.

Sources told Hengaw that the agents carried out a violent search of the residence, ransacked the property, and confiscated personal items belonging to Zare and his wife, including electronic devices and religious books.

Following his arrest, the agents also entered his parents’ home, located nearby, where they conducted a search and photographed various parts of the residence.

Authorities have not disclosed the reasons for his detention, the charges against him, or his place of detention, and have provided no information despite repeated inquiries by his family.
