Teachers’ union board member Manouchehr Aghabeigi arrested in Kermanshah

Manouchehr Aghabeigi, a member of the board of the Kermanshah Teachers’ Trade Association, has been arrested by forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the city of Kermanshah.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Manouchehr Aghabeigi was detained in Kermanshah, on Wednesday, March 18, 2026.

Informed sources state that following his arrest, Aghabeigi was transferred to an undisclosed location, and no information is currently available regarding his whereabouts or the charges brought against him.

Aghabeigi suffers from cardiovascular disease, and his prolonged detention may pose a serious risk to his health.

This teachers’ union activist has previously faced pressure from government institutions due to his professional and civic activities.
