Retired teacher and labor activist Yousef Amini arrested in Bukan

Iranian security forces arrested Yousef Amini, a 50-year-old retired teacher and Kurdish labor activist from Bukan, and transferred him to an undisclosed location following a late-night raid on his home.

According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, agents of the Intelligence Department of the Islamic Republic of Iran raided Amini’s residence in Bukan’s Aliabad neighborhood at approximately 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2026, and arrested him without presenting an arrest warrant.

Amini has previously been summoned and detained by security agencies. In one such case, he was arrested and interrogated during a wedding ceremony solely for wearing a gray Kurdish outfit that matched the color and style of clothing worn by several other attendees.

Authorities have not disclosed the reasons for Amini’s arrest or any charges against him. His current whereabouts and legal status remain unknown.
