Hengaw – Sunday, May 31, 2026
Nearly three months after the arrest of Jamshid Iroui, a retired Kurdish teacher from Bijar, no information has been made available regarding his whereabouts, health condition or legal status.
According to information obtained by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Iroui, a veteran educator from Bijar, was arrested by Iranian government forces on March 3, 2026, during the 40-day war involving Iran, the United States and Israel, following reports of the death of Ali Khamenei.
Despite repeated efforts by his family to obtain information from judicial authorities, the prosecutor’s office and security agencies in Bijar, officials have refused to provide any clear explanation regarding the reasons for his arrest, the charges against him or his place of detention.
