Sharif University student Reza Dalman arrested on Newroz’s Eve in Tehran

Reza Dalman, a student at Sharif University of Technology, was arrested by Iranian government forces in Tehran during Newroz’s Eve events on charges of hanging a mouse doll from a tree.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Dalman, 24, was detained by government forces on the evening of Friday, March 20, 2026.

Informed sources state that the student was arrested on the eve of the Newroz after hanging a mouse doll from a tree. The arrest followed a complaint and cooperation by the student Basij at Sharif University with government authorities.
