Top Sharif University student Erfan Khadem arrested, whereabouts remain unknown

Nearly two weeks after the arbitrary arrest of Erfan Khadem, a 21-year-old top student at Sharif University of Technology in Tehran, no information is available regarding his legal status, place of detention or the charges brought against him.
According to information obtained by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Erfan Khadem, an outstanding undergraduate student in electrical engineering at Sharif University of Technology, was arrested approximately two weeks ago by Iranian government forces in Tehran and transferred to an undisclosed location.
Despite repeated efforts by Khadem’s family, judicial and security authorities have refused to provide any clear information regarding the arresting agency, his place of detention or the reasons for the arrest of the 21-year-old student.
