Master's student Amirhossein Baqeri Alavijeh violently arrested in Isfahan

Iranian security forces have violently arrested Amirhossein Baqeri Alavijeh, a master's student at Arak University, during a raid on his home in the city of Alavijeh, Isfahan Province. He has previously been detained by the authorities.
According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, plainclothes security agents stormed Baqeri Alavijeh’s home on Monday, June 1, 2026, arresting him with the use of physical force before transferring him to an undisclosed location.
Sources familiar with the case told Hengaw that the agents entered the residence without presenting a warrant. During the raid, they physically assaulted Baqeri Alavijeh, thoroughly searched the home, and confiscated electronic devices belonging to him and other members of his family.
The reasons for his renewed arrest, the identity of the arresting agency, any charges against him, and his place of detention remain unknown.
Baqeri Alavijeh was previously arrested by security forces at his home on April 2, 2025, and released 15 days later after posting bail. He was subsequently sentenced by the Revolutionary Court of Najafabad to one year of suspended imprisonment. As part of a supplementary punishment, he was required to report to the city's Sentence Enforcement Office on the first Saturday of every month.
