Iranian government forces shot and killed Mohammad Sohrabzadeh, a young Kurdish man from the village of Kamiz near Sanandaj (Sine), on the road from Qolian village to Sanandaj. According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Sohrabzadeh was shot on the evening of Sunday, March 29, 2026, while he was traveling with his parents in a private vehicle along the route from Qolian village to Sanandaj. Plainclothes forces opened fire on the vehicle without prior warning, striking him with two bullets and critically injuring him. He died from the severity of his injuries before reaching a medical facility.

The shooting took place amid heightened security conditions across cities in Kurdistan in recent days, coinciding with escalating regional military tensions.
