Hengaw – Wednesday, May 13, 2026
More than three weeks after the arrest of Siavash Azizi Aghdam, a Kurdish resident of Mahabad, no information has emerged regarding his condition or whereabouts.
According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Azizi Aghdam was arrested in early May 2026 during a raid carried out by Iranian government forces without the presentation of any judicial warrant. Since then, he has been denied access to legal counsel, family visits, and even a brief phone call with his relatives.
Despite repeated daily inquiries by his family to security institutions and the Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office in Mahabad, officials have refused to provide clear answers regarding his situation.
The reasons for his arrest and any charges brought against him have not been disclosed.
