Shirvan resident Hadi Abbasian arrested and transferred to prison

Hadi Abbasian, a resident of Shirvan in North Khorasan province, has been arrested by Iranian government forces and transferred to the city’s central prison.

According to information obtained by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Abbasian was arrested on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, by Iranian security forces in the Farhang neighborhood of Shirvan.

After spending one day under interrogation, he was transferred on Thursday to Shirvan Central Prison.

Sources told Hengaw that Abbasian’s arrest was linked to his support for the January 2026 protests. He had previously published videos on social media expressing support for the protesters’ demands.
