Ashkan Abkhor arrested by Iranian intelligence forces in Saqqez

Amid the continuing wave of arrests targeting Kurdish people across Kurdistan, a young man from Saqqez, identified as Ashkan Abkhor, has been arrested by Iranian government forces and transferred to an undisclosed location.
According to information obtained by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Ashkan Abkhor, 27, was arrested on Monday, June 15, 2026, at his workplace in Saqqez by agents of the Intelligence Department.
According to Hengaw sources, intelligence agents raided Abkhor’s barbershop without presenting any legal documentation or arrest warrant. He was arrested and taken away in front of customers.
Authorities have provided no clear information to his family regarding the reasons for his arrest, the charges against him, or his place of detention.
