Ashraf Mohammadi Najafabadi, an environmental activist from Najafabad in Isfahan Province, has remained in detention without trial for nearly four months and is currently being held in Doolatabad Prison in Isfahan.

According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Mohammadi Najafabadi, a 52-year-old resident of Najafabad and mother of one, has remained in legal limbo at Doolatabad Prison despite the passage of 123 days since her arrest.

She is facing the charge of "propaganda against the state" and has so far been denied temporary release on bail.

Despite suffering from high blood pressure and a pinched nerve in her shoulder, she has been deprived of adequate medical care.

Ashraf Mohammadi was arrested on February 19, 2026, while returning from a memorial ceremony marking the 40th day after the death of one of the victims of the January protests in Najafabad. She was transferred to a detention facility operated by the Intelligence Organization of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and was later moved to Doolatabad Prison in Isfahan after the completion of interrogations.

She had previously been arrested during the Woman, Life, Freedom (Jin, Jiyan, Azadi) movement and was later released under an amnesty directive.
