Intelligence Ministry arrests 25-year-old Baloch seminary student Hafez Elias

Hafez Elias Qadaranjoo (Roudini), a 25-year-old Baloch seminary student from Sarakhs, was arrested by agents of Iran’s Intelligence Ministry while returning to Zahedan and transferred to an undisclosed location.

According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Intelligence Ministry agents arrested Qadaranjoo on June 18, 2026, at the Kameh checkpoint on the Torbat-e Heydarieh route. He is from the village of Qoush Sarbazi in Sarakhs County, Razavi Khorasan Province.

Following his arrest, Intelligence Ministry officials contacted his family and stated that the sole reason for his detention was his studies and attendance at the Makki Mosque religious complex in Zahedan.

His current whereabouts, legal status, and any charges against him remain unknown.
