Five months after his arrest, no information available on Samad Nazarpour’s fate

Samad Nazarpour, a Lor Bakhtiari man from Andika and one of those arrested during the January protests, has remained in detention for more than five months, with no information available regarding his whereabouts, legal status, or condition.
According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the 32-year-old has spent the past 153 days in detention under conditions of complete uncertainty, and no official information has been made available about his case.
A source familiar with Nazarpour’s family told Hengaw that he has been denied all contact with the outside world throughout his detention, including phone calls and family visits, raising serious concerns among his relatives and loved ones.
Nazarpour was arrested by Iranian forces on the evening of January 9, 2026, during protests in Andika, Khuzestan Province, and was subsequently transferred to an undisclosed location.
Authorities have not disclosed his whereabouts, legal status, or whether any charges have been brought against him.
