IRGC-affiliated local auxiliary killed in armed attack in Baneh

An IRGC-affiliated local auxiliary, commonly known as jash, was killed in an armed attack by unidentified gunmen in Baneh. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Karim Basi, an armed local auxiliary affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), was killed in the early hours of Thursday, July 30, 2026, in Khwajamir village, Baneh County.

Hengaw has learned that Basi, a resident of Khwajamir, served as a locally recruited armed auxiliary affiliated with the IRGC, commonly referred to as jash. He also worked as the village's mirab, the official responsible for managing and distributing irrigation water.

No political party or armed group has claimed responsibility for the attack. Iranian state media and media outlets affiliated with the IRGC have not officially reported the incident.
