Two Lor men executed in Khorramabad Central Prison

Iranian authorities have executed two Lor men from Aligudarz, Mehdi Shahrisvand and Alireza Barani, at Khorramabad Central Prison in Lorestan Province. The two had been sentenced to death in a joint case on drug-related charges.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, authorities executed Alireza Barani, 30, on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at Khorramabad Central Prison. Mehdi Shahrisvand, also 30, was executed at the same prison a day earlier, on Wednesday, July 15.

Hengaw sources stated that the two men were arrested five years ago in connection with a joint case and were later sentenced to death by the Islamic Republic of Iran's judiciary on drug-related charges.

Neither Iranian state media nor the judiciary had announced the executions.
