Two members of Kurdish charity organisation detained in Kamyaran, whereabouts remain unknown

Fouad Shadi and Esmail Khatari, two Kurdish men from Shayni village in Kamyaran County and members of the Shayni Charity Foundation, have been arrested by Iranian security forces, and their whereabouts remain unknown.

According to information obtained by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Esmail Khatari, a resident of Paveh originally from Shayni village, was arrested on July 24, 2026, when Ministry of Intelligence agents raided his mother’s home in the village.

The following day, July 25, Fouad Shadi was also arrested without presenting a warrant and transferred to an undisclosed location.

Sources familiar with the case said repeated inquiries by the families have yielded no information about the men’s whereabouts or condition.

Authorities have not disclosed the reasons for the arrests, any charges against the two men, or the location where they are being held.
