Writer and researcher Amin Masouri arrested to serve prison sentence in Khorramabad

Amin Masouri, a Lor writer, researcher and former political prisoner, has been arrested to serve his prison sentence and transferred to Khorramabad Central Prison.

According to information obtained by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Masouri was arrested on August 9, 2026, to begin serving his sentence.

Masouri was sentenced in March 2026 by Branch 1 of the Khorramabad Revolutionary Court to one year in prison and two years of internal exile to Sarakhs in Razavi Khorasan province.

The writer was previously arrested by agents of the Ministry of Intelligence in Khorramabad in August 2025 and, following interrogation, transferred to Parsilon Prison in the city. He was eventually released on bail of 500 million tomans on September 15, 2025, pending judicial proceedings.

Masouri has previously faced arrest, prosecution and other security and judicial measures in connection with his research, cultural and civil society activities.
