Amirhossein Mohsenipour and Mehdi Karami imprisoned to serve sentences in Dehdasht

Iranian authorities have detained Amirhossein Mohsenipour and Mehdi Karami, two Lor men from Dehdasht in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad province, to begin serving prison sentences.

According to information obtained by Hengaw, Amirhossein Mohsenipour was arrested on July 12, 2026, and transferred to Dehdasht Prison to serve a three-year prison sentence. Mehdi Karami was similarly arrested on July 7, 2026, to begin serving his sentence.

The two men were sentenced in May 2026 by Branch 1 of the Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Provincial Court of Appeals.

Mohsenipour was sentenced to three years in prison on charges of “membership in a group with the intent to disrupt national security,” one year for “propaganda against the state,” and two years for “insulting Ali Khamenei.” Under Iran’s sentence aggregation law, only the longest sentence of three years is enforceable.

Karami was sentenced to three years in prison on the charge of “membership in a group with the intent to disrupt national security.”

Mohsenipour was previously arrested by Iranian security forces on June 23, 2025. He was initially held at the Dehdasht detention center before being transferred to Dehdasht Prison following interrogation, and was released on Aug. 20, 2025.

Karami was arrested by Iranian security forces on June 18, 2025.
