A report about Amin Maleki, a Kurdish political prisoner in Saqez Prison

Hengaw : A Kurdish citizen from Saqqez district of Kurdistan province sentenced to 4 years in prison for membership in Kurdish parties and is currently being held in the city's central prison.

According to a report received by Hengaw Human Rights Organization, a Kurdish citizen from the village of "Iranshah" in Saqqez, identified as "Amin Maleki", was sentenced to 4 years in prison by the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Court in this city on Thursday, March 18, 2021, and arrested on the same day and transferred to Saqezi Central Prison on charges of membership in the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP).

Amin Maleki, 56, was previously a member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) and returned to Saqqez last year after receiving a warrant from the Iranian intelligence service.  He was arrested after his return nand after five months of detention in the Intelligence Office of Saqqez and Sanandaj, he was temporarily released on bail .

It is worth mentioning that Amin Maleki was sentenced by the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Court in Saqqez in 2012 to three years in prison for membership in the Democratic Party. After a year and while on leave, he left Iran and is currently on imprisoned for the same old case.

The new case of Amin Maleki, who was sentenced to 4 years in prison, has been referred to the Court of Appeals and is ongoing.
