Two months uncertainty about Khabat Mafakheri's fate

Hengaw: The family of the environmental activist Khabat Mafakheri from Sanandaj has not been able to contact him after his arrest two months ago.

According to the report received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, two months have passed since the arrest of Khabat Mafakheri, an environmental activist from Sanandaj.

He is still being kept at Sanandaj Ettelaat (Intelligence Service) detention center and his family has not been able to contact him yet. On Thursday at 2 A.M, August 27, 2020, Sanandaj Ettelaat forces invaded Khabat Mafakheri's house and arrested him.

Hengaw had reported before that Ettelaat forces had beaten him while arresting Khabat Mafakheri. They searched his house and confiscated his cell phone and the rest of his family members' phones, too.

Khabat Mafakheri is an environmental activist and is a member of the „Green Population of Kurdistan“. He was arrested for cooperating with one of the oppositional parties of Kurdistan.
