3 Kurdish citizens , Farideh Veisi and Sirus Abbasi sentenced to prison and Azad Abbasi acquitted

Hengaw : Farideh Veisi and her husband Sirus Abbasi, Kurdish civil activist from Dehgolan district of Kurdistan province , have been sentenced by Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Court in Sanandaj to one year in prison and Azad Abbasi, Sirus Abbasi's brother, has been acquitted of the charges.
According to a report received by Hengaw Human Rights Organization on Tuesday, January 12, 2021, the verdicts issued for Farideh Veisi and Sirus Abbasi were officially notified by the First Branch of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Court in Sanandaj and they were each sentenced to one year suspended imprisonment. Azad Abbasi has also been acquitted of the charges.
Sirus Abbasi wrote about this in a post on his Instagram page: "The Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Court in Sanandaj acquitted Azad due to lack of evidence and Farideh and I were each sentenced to one year suspended imprisonment for three years of walking and filming a campaign for protesting Ramin Hosseinpanahi’s death sentence and execution and arranging protests in Dehgolan to oppose the Turkish invasion of West Kurdistan (Syrian Kurdistan) and to participating in a demonstration in front of the Sanandaj courthouse to protest the arrest of Ms. Zahra Mohammadi, a Kurdish language teacher. "
The first session of the trial of these three Kurdish citizens was held in July, and they boycotted the second session of the court, headed by Judge Saeedi, which was scheduled to take place on November 3, 2020, and announced that we would appear in court only when the court session was open and fair.
On Tuesday, December 29, 2020, Sirus Abbasi and his wife Farideh Veisi were detained by Iranian security services and were transferred to the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Court of Sanandaj, where Judge Saeedi tried them.
Sirus Abbasi and his wife Farideh Abbasi were detained on Saturday, July 14 ,2020 during a raid by Iranian security forces on their workplace at the Zanist Science and Education Center in Dehgolan, and Azad Abbasi, Sirus's brother, was also detained after pursuing his brother and his wife’s whereabouts .
These three citizens were temporarily released on bail of 200 and 300 million Tomans (nearly US$10000) after two months of detention until the court hearing.
