2 Kurdish political prisoners released on a parole from Urmia and Shahroud prisons

Hengaw: In recent days, 2 Kurdish political prisoners, identified as Mohammad Nouranizadeh and Mohammad Patayishi, who were imprisoned in Shahroud and Urmia prisons, have been released on parole.

Based on a report received by Hengaw Human Rights Organization. Mohammad Nouranizadeh, a 57-year-old political prisoner from Mahabad district of West Azerbaijan(Urmia) province in Iranian Kurdistan has been released on parole from Shahroud Prison in Semnan Province of Iran after serving more than half of his six-year sentence,

Mohammad Nouranizadeh, along with another citizen from Mahabad, identified as "Diako Rahmani Nasab", was arrested by Iranian intelligence forces on Monday, February 13 , 2017 , and transferred to an intelligence detention center in Urmia.

These two citizens were tried by the First Branch of the  Military Court in Urmia in June 2017 on charges of collaborating with the Kurdistan Democratic Party of Iran.  Rahmani was sentenced to five years in prison and deported to Semnan Central Prison.

On the other hand, Mohammad Patayishi, a 52-year-old citizen of Piranshahr district of West Azerbaijan (Urmia) province in Iranian Kurdistan was released on parole after serving three years of his seven-year sentence in Urmia Central Prison.

He was eventually sentenced to seven years in prison by First Branch of the Iranian Islamic  Revolutionary Court in Urmia on charges of collaborating with the Kurdistan Democratic Party of Iran.
