Four Kurdish citizens from Marivan arrested for participating in Newroz celebrations

Hengaw: With the arrest of two other citizens from village of "Ney" in Marivan district of Kurdistan province, the number of detainees in this village for participating in Newroz celebrations reached four.

According to a report received by Hengaw Human Rights Organization, on Wednesday, April 24, 2021 , Iranian security forces in Marivan arrested a citizen identified as Jamal Gerami from the village of Ney and transferred him to an unknown location.

Also, on April 23, 2021 , another citizen from  this village, identified as Aram Nikopi,  34-year-old , was arrested after being summoned to the Iranian Intelligence Office in Marivan .

These two citizens have been arrested on charges of  participating in  Newroz celebrations in the village of Ney.

On the same day, two other citizens from this village, identified as Salman Afra and Sivan Partow, were arrested on the same charges.
