Henagw : Fatemeh Davand, a Kurdish political  activist from Bukan who was arrested during the November 2019 protests and sentenced to imprisonment and flogging, has been released from prison with an electronic anklet .

According to a report received by Hengaw Human Rights Organization in recent days, Fatemeh Davand, a female Kurdish political prisoner from Bukan , has been released from prison after serving 14 months of her 45-month sentence with the consent of the Iranian judiciary.

According to an informed source, the condition of Fatemeh Davand's electronic confinement is that she must spend the rest of her imprisonment (31 months)under house arrest and is not allowed to leave her home for shopping or medical affairs.

Fatemeh Davand was arrested by Iranian security forces on Saturday (November 19, 2019 during the  protests protests over the increase in gasoline prices, and was released on bail of 4 billion tomans ($200,000) four months later.

Fatemeh Davand was first tried by Second Branch  of the Criminal Court in Bukan on February 6, 2020, and sentenced to 5 months in prison and 30  lashes for "disturbing public order."

She was also tried by the First Branch of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Court in Mahabad, headed  by Judge Javad Gholami, on May 12, 2020 , and sentenced to five years in prison on charges of "acting against national security."  This sentence was reduced to 3 years and 9 months imprisonment after submitting to the judge's verdict.

Ms. Davand finally introduced herself to Urmia Central Prison on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 , to serve a sentence of 4 years and 6 months in prison.
