Kamal Ghoytasi, a citizen of Oshnaviyeh, who had previously been sentenced to 5 years in prison, was arrested on Saturday, May 28, 2022, after being summoned to Oshnaviyeh Revolutionary Court. He was transferred to the city's central prison to serve his sentence.
Hengaw had previously reported that Kamal Ghoytasi had been sentenced to five years in prison by Branch 1 of Oshnoyeh Revolutionary Court headed by Judge "Rezaei" on charges of "collaborating with and membership in the Kurdistan Democratic Party of Iran." The verdict was officially notified to him on Sunday, March 27, 2022.
Kamal Ghoytasi, from "Cheshmeh Gol" village, was arrested on Monday, December 14, 2020, by the Intelligence Service of Oshnaviyeh and transferred to the Detention Center of Intelligence Service in Urmia.
The Kurdish citizen finally was temporarily released from prison on bail on Sunday, February 28, 2021, after 75 days of detention.
It is worth mentioning that he was deprived of access to a lawyer and also family visits during the detention.
