Following pressure from the authorities and the threat of expulsion from school for ripping Khomeini's portrait from her book, Hasti Hossein Panahi, a 16-year-old female student from Dehgolan, attempted suicide and fell into a coma.
On Wednesday, November 9, 2022, Hasti Hossein Panahi was summoned by the Dehgolan city department of education and told that if she did not cooperate, they would have a video of her tearing up (Khomeini's portrait and Khamenei) and that she would be expelled from school.
An informed source told Hengaw that Hasti Hossein Panahi attempted suicide by throwing herself out of a moving car after leaving the education department because of the mental stress brought on by the security institutions' requests for cooperation and the threat of expulsion from the school.
This source further stated that Hasti was flown by helicopter to Kausar Hospital in Sanandaj, where her level of consciousness is extremely low and her condition is potentially fatal. She is presently in this hospital's intensive care unit.
According to a source close to Hossein Panahi's family, the security institutions have pressured Hasti's father, who is also an education teacher, to withhold any information on this matter.
