The city of Murmuri under attack and seige; Iranian government forces arrest and kidnap at least 20 Kurdish citizens

In the last 48 hours, the city of Murmuri in the Abdanan district of Ilam Province has been the scene of an attack and siege by the Iranian government forces, during which at least 20 Kurdish citizens have been kidnapped and arrested. So far, the identities of six of them have been confirmed as Musa Baziar, Mohammad Baziar, Mohammad Arvaneh, Ehsan Moradian, Amir Arwneh, and Nuri Mohseni.
According to the report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights today, Sunday, December 4, 2022, the Iranian government forces surrounded the city of Murmuri with about 40 vehicles and kidnapped at least 20 residents, including Musa Baziar, Mohammad Baziar, Mohammad Arvaneh, Ehsan Moradian, Amir Arwneh, and Nuri Mohseni.
According to what was obtained from Murmuri yesterday evening, the Iranian government forces also targeted the settlement of local nomads in the suburbs of Murmuri.
Also, during the kidnapping of the citizens in this city, the Iranian government forces entered the houses from the yard and the roof.
According to Hengaw sources, the Iranian government used violence to forcefully close the shops of Murmuri city market, including pharmacies.
As a result of the atmosphere of intimidation and repression created by this attack by government forces, primary school students fled from their schools and took refuge in the city’s hospital.
