Ahura Karami, from Kermanshah, was recently sentenced to 5 years and 8 months in prison by the Revolutionary Court of Tehran after being detained for more than two months.

According to the report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Ahura Karami was recently sentenced to 5 years and 8 months in prison by the 26th branch of the Islamic Revolutionary Court in Tehran, headed by Judge Iman Afshari.

Ahura Karami was abducted by Iranian government forces on Monday, October 31, 2022, during the popular uprising in Tehran. After 2 months and 3 days of interrogation and detention, this citizen was finally released on Monday, January 2, 2023, by posting bail.

It should be emphasized that when Ahura Karami was being held in custody, he was denied the right to contact an attorney and have family members visit him.
