Two citizens from Bukan, named Mohammad Karimikhah and Ismail Karimi, were arrested this summer on charges of being members of PDKI. Currently, they have been sentenced to three years in prison by the judicial system of the Islamic Republic of Iran and have been transferred to the prison of this city to serve the sentence.

According to the report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, 42-year-old Mohammad Karimikhah and 44-year-old Ismail Karimi were arrested again on January 21, 2022, after being summoned to the Bukan sentence enforcement office to serve their 3-year sentence in Central Prison.

According to an informed source, these two citizens were sentenced in absentia by the Bukan Revolutionary Court in November 2022 to 9 months in prison on the charge of reporting against the regime, and to 27 months in prison on the charge of cooperation and membership in the Democratic Party.

According to the Consolidation of Sentences Law, the harsh sentence of 27 months imprisonment for these two citizens is enforceable.

It should be noted that these two citizens were in solitary confinement for 114 days and were denied the right to access a lawyer and meet their families.

Mohammad Karimikhah and Ismail Karimi were arrested on Thursday, August 11, 2022, by the forces of the Bukan Intelligence Department, and after 114 days in the detention center of the Intelligence Department, they were temporarily released on bail until the end of the proceedings.
