Soheila (Sohayla) Motaei, from Dehgolan, was arrested twice during the recent popular uprising; she was transferred to Sanandaj prison to execute the prison sentence.
Soheila Motaei was sentenced to prison by the Iranian Revolutionary Court in Dehgolan in a quick session in absentia, according to the report that the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights received. She was held in custody until the enforcement of her sentence.
She was given a prison term of 18 months for disturbing public order, 15 months for supporting opposition propaganda, 13 months for upsetting the public's peace, 5 months for defying the authorities, and 9 months for supporting opposition parties and organizations.
The draconian penalty of 18 months in prison for this activist woman is required under the Islamic Revolutionary Court's order in Dehgolan, which refers to the Consolidation of Sentences Law.
Soheila Motaei was temporarily released on bail of 400 million tomans on October 17, 2022. She was arrested again on November 12 and was in detention until the execution of the sentence.
