Omid Moshir Panahi, a Nozhin Social Cultural Association member and a Kurdish language teacher from Sanandaj, was arrested after being summoned to Iranian government institutions.
According to the report received by the Hengaw organization for human rights, on Thursday, February 23, 2023, Omid Mushir Panahi, a Kurdish language teacher from Sanandaj, was arrested after being summoned by the Iranian intelligence in this city.
Hengaw has been informed that this civil activist and Kurdish language teacher was summoned to this government institution through a phone call the other day.
The reasons for the Iranian Intelligence Agency's summoning and arrest of this cultural and civic activist have not been cleared, and his fate is still unknown.
According to statistics recorded in Hengaw's Statistics and Documents Center, at least 12 Kurdish language teachers who volunteered to teach their mother tongue to Kurdish children have been arrested by Iranian governmental institutions in one year since 2022.
