Chemical attacks on schools continue with at least 9 cases recorded in the cities of Tehran, Islamshahr, Karaj, Urmia, Qazvin, Babolsar, Harsin, and Shiraz. In the meantime, attendance in the classrooms in Mahabad schools was boycotted to a significant extent.
According to the report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Sunday, April 16, 2023, a chemical attack was carried out on two schools of Toloe Islam and Satayesh in Tehran, during which several female students were poisoned.
Informed told Hengaw that the Setayesh high school authorities did not allow the students to leave the school after the attack was conducted.
As these organized attacks continued, the girls' technical college of Talash in Islamshahr of Tehran province and the Shahid school in Shiraz were targeted, and several students were poisoned and were taken to the hospital with symptoms of nausea and dizziness.
In another separate attack, more than 30 female students at "Ali Naseri" school in Harsin Kermanshah were taken to Shohada Hospital in this city with symptoms of poisoning.
At the same time, Tarawat school in Urmia city was targeted by these chemical attacks, as a result of which more than 40 students were poisoned and were taken to Motahari Hospital in this city for treatment.
One of the students of Tarawat School, whose name is withheld by Hengaw, said in this regard: One hour before the chemical attack, 12 passengers in three cars entered the schoolyard and locked the exit door.
According to this eyewitness, two of these forces went to the janitor's room and then collected all the CCTV cameras, and took them with them at the end. She added: All these people were wearing masks and after they left, symptoms of poisoning and nausea appeared in the students.
Soleimani School in Karaj was one of the other schools that were targeted by these organized chemical attacks. The published footage from this school showed the dire condition of the poisoned students.
In another case, as a result of a chemical attack on Amanat Girls' High School in Babolsar County, Mazandaran Province, several students were poisoned and taken to medical centers.
Also, following the chemical attack on Yas Nabi Girls' High School in Qazvin, students' families gathered and protested in front of the building of this school.
In this connection, in most of the schools in Mahabad city, students boycotted attending classrooms as a sign to condemn the chemical attacks on the schools.
