Esmaeil Chokali and Zubair Mahmoudi arrested by Intelligence forces

Two Kurdish men, Esmaeil Chokali from Bukan and Zubair Mahmoudi from Piranshahr, have been arrested by agents of the Iranian Intelligence Department and transferred to undisclosed locations.
According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Saturday, July 12, 2025, Chokali was arrested following a raid by Intelligence forces on his shop in Bukan. He was subsequently taken to the detention facility operated by the Intelligence Department in the same city.
Earlier, on Thursday, July 10, Mahmoudi was arrested in Piranshahr by agents of the Intelligence Department and transferred to an unknown location. Three days after his arrest, no information has been made available regarding his fate or whereabouts.
According to informed sources, both arrests were carried out without the presentation of arrest warrants.
The reasons for the arrests, the charges brought against the detainees, and their current conditions remain unknown.
