"Mamosta" Arman (Mohammad) Sadeghi, Imam of Hosseini village in Dehgolan county and the director of the "Mohammad Rasolollah Dar al Uloom," a center for Islamic science, who had been summoned and warned several times during the "women, life, freedom" movement, has been sentenced to imprisonment, lashes, and depriving him of his clerical vestments.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Arman Sadeghi, congregational imam of Hosseini village in Dehgolan county, has been charged with "propaganda against the regime" and "misleading public opinion." He has been sentenced to 7 months and 15 days of imprisonment, punishable by 74 lashes, and seizing his clergy vestments by the Special Clerical Court in Hamadan.

Hengaw has been informed that the sentence has been officially announced and declared by the binding authority of the court.

It’s important to note that Mr. Sadeghi had critically criticized the government’s crackdown on protesters during the "Jin, Jian, Azadi" movement.

"Mamosta" Arman Sadeghi, along with the prayers on Friday, November 11th, 2022, held placards saying "no to prison" and "prison = liberty," protesting the crackdown and detaining the young protesters.
