Seven citizens from Piranshahr, including Taha Rasulian,Mohesn Qadri, Ahmad Abdullapur, Sina Dashmir, Chia Shahid Muqadam, Abdulla Qanbarivand, and Mahmud Qanbarivand, were sentenced to imprisonment, leashes, and fines.

According to a report received by Hengaw Organizations for Human Rights, Taha Rasoulian, Sina Dashmir, Ahmad Abdullahpour, and Mohsen Qadri were recently sentenced to three months of imprisonment and 40 lashes on charges of "disturbing public order and peace" by the 102 Branch of Piranshahr Criminal Court headed by Judge Reza Garhamani Saatlou.
 

These sentences have been reduced to a cash payment of 50,000,000 rials to the Iranian government fund.


Abdullah Qanbarivand was sentenced to 6 months in prison for the charge of "participating in the manufacture of 20 homemade Molotov cocktails" and to pay a fine of two million rials to the Islamic Republic of Iran Government Fund, and Chia Shahid Aghadam, for the charge of "illegal movement across the country's borders," has been sentenced to pay a fine of fifty million rials to the Government Fund of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
 

Mahmoud Qanbarivand was sentenced to 15 months and one day in prison on charges of "participating in the manufacture of one machine gun" and 7 years, six months, and one day in prison on charges of "participating in the manufacture of two homemade weapons". He has been sentenced to 3 years, 6 months, and 1 day in prison for "participating in the possession of three gun bullets" and to 15 months and 1 day in prison for "participating in the production of 20 homemade Molotov cocktails".
 

According to the Consolidation of Sentences Law, the seven years, six months, and one day imprisonment of Mamhund Qanbarivand has been reduced to four years. The rest of his sentence has been suspended.

These seven citizens officially received their verdicts on May 14, 2023.


On Wednesday, January 18, 2023, armed government forces arrested Abdulla Qanbarivand, 49; Mahmud Qanbarivand, 46; both brothers and handicapped; Taha Rasulian, a civil activist and singer; Mohesn Qadri; Ahmad Abdullapur; and Sina Dashmir, 19. After a while, Chia Shahid Muqadam was also arrested by government forces. These seven citizens were released temporarily on bail from Naghadeh Central Prison.
