Rahman (Omar) Suleimani, a labor activist from Baneh who was arrested last year, was sentenced to 15 months in prison by the Islamic Republic of Iran's judiciary.


According to the report received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, in recent days Rahman Soleimani, a labor activist from Baneh, was charged by Branch 101 of Criminal Court 2 of this city and sentenced to 15 months in prison for "membership in opposition parties" and "propaganda against the regime". 
 

After Mr. Soleimani’s objection, this sentence was reduced and suspended for two years, taking into account his recent period of detention.
 

Earlier on Wednesday, May 10 of this year, Rahman Soleimani was accused of "insulting the leadership", "membership in opposition parties," and "propaganda against the regime" during the court session.
 

This labor activist was arrested on Tuesday, April 26, 2023, on the eve of International Labor Day, along with four other labor and social activists from Baneh City.
