Eight Teachers and Union Activists sentenced to long prison term of total of 34 years

In a recent development reported by the Hengaw Human Rights Organization, the Shiraz Revolutionary Court has issued verdicts against eight union activists and teachers from Fars province, resulting in their collective sentence of 34 years in prison. The individuals involved are Asghar Amirezadegan, Gholamreza Gholami, Mozhgan Bagheri, Afshin Razmjooi, Iraj Rahnama, Mohammad Ali Zahmatkesh, Abdolrazagh Amiri, and Zahra Esfandiari.
 

According to the verdict issued by the Shiraz revolutionary court, Abdolrazagh Amiri and Zahra Esfandiari have each been given a two-year prison term, while Asghar Amirezadegan, Gholamreza Gholami, Mozhgan Bagheri, Afshin Razmjooi, Iraj Rahnama, and Mohammad Ali Zahmatkesh have been sentenced to five years of imprisonment each.
 

Of the above Teachers, who were previously brought before the court on charges of "plotting and conspiracy,"  Abdolrazagh Amiri and Zahra Esfandiari will serve their sentences under electronic ankle monitor outside of prison, as stipulated by the court.


Asghar Amirezadegan, Gholamreza Gholami, Mozhgan Bagheri, Afshin Razmjooi, Iraj Rahnama, Mohammad Ali Zahmatkesh, Abdolrazagh Amiri, and Zahra Esfandiari were detained During the periods between May to June 2023. Subsequently, they were granted temporary release on bail.
