Based on the statistics registered in the Statistics and Documents Center of the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at least 168 citizens have been arrested by government forces in June 2023 all over Iran, and this number has increased by 61 cases equal to 57% compared to May with 107 cases.

According to this report, at least 77 Kurdish citizens, 50 Baloch citizens, and also 25 women, 16 children, and 7 teachers and students were arrested or detained by government forces in June.


Increasing the number of arrests of Kurds and Baloches

According to the statistics of Hengaw, 76% of the people who were arrested in June, equivalent to 127 people, were Kurds and Balochs.

The most arrested citizens were Kurdish citizens with 77 cases equivalent to 46% of the total arrests, followed by Baloch citizens with 50 cases equal to 30% of the total arrests.


The arrest of religious minorities

Arrests of followers of religious and religious minorities continued in June, as in previous months, by government institutions, and in the last month, at least five religious activists were arrested by the government institutions of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

According to the report, at least four religious activists and Baloch clerics, and a Bahai citizen, were arrested in June.


The arrest of 25 women and 16 children in June

Based on the statistics registered in the Statistics and Documents Center of the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at least 25 women have been arrested throughout Iran by security agencies in the last month, which is equivalent to 15% of the total number of detainees.

It should be noted that 15 of the arrested women, equivalent to 60% of the total number of women arrested in June, were Kurdish women.

Also, during this period, at least 16 children have been detained or abducted in Iran by government institutions.

According to this report, all the detained children were Baloch and Kurds. At least 11 Baloch children and five Kurdish children have been abducted by the government forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.



The arrest of teachers, students, and media activists

In June and based on Hengaw statistics, at least 4 students called Pedaram Moeini from Sanandaj, Maede Adami Mokri from Mahabad, Armita Pavir from Tabriz, and Reyhane Khorasani were arrested by the government institutions of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

During this time, at least three teachers called Asghar Mirzadegan from Firuzabad, Mohammad Tahmasebi from Sarableh, and Mahmoud Melaki from Bushehr were arrested by the institutions.

It should be mentioned that in the last month, at least 4 media activists were arrested by the government forces in the cities of Tehran, Rasht, and Javanrud.



The identity of all these 168 cases has been registered in the Statistics and Documents Center of the Hengaw Human Rights Organization.
