A Kurdish citizen named Ebrahim Hakimdoost from Mahabad, whose left eye was damaged during the suppression of nationwide protests last year in Mahabad, is in imminent danger of losing his sight even though he underwent surgery. He is also one of the protestors of the "women, life, freedom " movement, who has so far refused to publicly announce his injury due to the pressure and threats from the Iranian government forces.

According to the report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Ibrahim Hakimdoost, 34 years old and from Mahabad, whose left eye was injured during the protests in this city is in a dangerous condition and there is a possibility of losing his sight.
 

According to informed sources, Ebrahim Hakimdoost has undergone at least two unsuccessful surgeries in Tabriz and went to Tehran three times for treatment, but it did not have any good results and he still has serious vision problems.
 

Ebrahim Hakimdoost is married and the father of three children and lives with his family in a rented house. Since the injury, he has faced many problems in doing daily tasks and employment.
 

It should be mentioned that, on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, during the protests of Mahabad, he was shot by a bullet in his left eye.
 

Based on the statistics registered in the statistics and documents center of Hengaw, more than 20 Kurdish citizens from Mahabad were injured in their eyes during the protests and eight of whom have been identified by Hengaw.
