Two Kurdish citizens from Oshnaviyeh were arrested Iranian by government forces

Shafi Babkari, a Kurdish citizen from Oshnaviyeh, was arrested after being summoned to the Iranian Intelligence office in this city. Shwana Babkari, his older brother, was also arrested two days ago by this Iranian government agency.

According to the report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Thursday, July 6, 2023, Shafi Babkari, a Kurdish man from the village of "Kanirash" in Oshnaviyeh, was arrested after being summoned to the Iranian intelligence office in this city.

The arrest of Shafi Babkari comes while, on Tuesday, July 4, 2023, Shawana Babkari, 38 years old, and his older brother were arrested after being summoned to this office.

So far, the exact information about the reasons for their arrest and the charges against them is not clarified.

It should be mentioned that these two brothers are the children of Rashid Babkari known as "Rashid Mangur", one of the Kurdish political prisoners who was executed in Urmia Central Prison in 1993.
