Detention of Mozhgan Samimi, a Baha'i adherent in Rasht

A Baha'i adherent named Mozhgan Samimi has been detained by the government forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Rasht.

A Baha'i adherent named Mozhgan Samimi has been detained by the government forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Rasht.
 
According to the report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, Mozhgan Samimi, a Baha'i adherent from Rasht, was detained by the forces of the Intelligence Department.

 
According to informed sources, during the detention of Mozhgan Samimi, Iranian authorities conducted a raid on her home and confiscated some of her personal belongings.
 

At the same time, another female Baha'i adherent from Rasht named Shiva Kashaninejad was detained by IRGC intelligence forces.

 
Following her arrest, Mozhgan Samimi had a brief phone call with her family and informed them of her detention and transportation to Rasht's Lakan Prison.
