The death sentence of an Afghan Baloch prisoner named Asadollah Amini, who was previously sentenced to death for drug-related crimes, was secretly carried out in Zabol prison of Sistan and Balochistan. At least 12 Afghan prisoners have been executed in Iranian prisons in seven months.
According to the report received by the Hengaw Organization For Human Rights, At dawn on Monday, July 31, 2023, the death sentence of a Baloch prisoner named Asadollah Amini, aged 32, from the city of Nimruz, Afghanistan, was carried out without granting the right to a final visit with his family in Zabol prison.
According to a report by Haalvsh, Asadollah Amini, who is the father of one child, was arrested in 2021 on charges of drug-related crimes in Zabol. He was subsequently sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court of the Islamic Republic of Iran in that city.
On July 30th, yesterday, the death sentence of another Afghan Baloch prisoner named Mohammad Arbab was carried out in Zabol prison. Both of these prisoners' death sentences were carried out while their families were not informed, and they were executed without being granted the right to have a final visit with their loved ones.
So far, the execution of Mohammad Arbab and Asadollah Amini has not been announced in the government media, particularly the media outlets close to the judiciary.
Based on the statistics registered in the Statistics and Documents Center of the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at least 12 Afghan prisoners have been executed in the prisons of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the last seven months.
